From ClassConn
Purpose: to aid in the professional development of the members of ClassConn.
- This award is open to all members of ClassConn. (i.e. dues have been paid).
Anyone interested in applying should submit the following: 1. Letter of intent, stating intended professional development need. (i.e. What would you do with the money?) 2. Curriculum Vitae 3. Names and contact numbers for references

The committee will meet to decide the recipient by mid January; the announcement will be posted on the web site. The award money will be dispensed in May, 2005

Classroom Discretionary Grant
A classroom discretionary grant is available to support the following:
- classroom projects in teaching in the Classics at all levels;
- materials (photographic, audio-visual, computer) to further teaching in the Classics;
- field trips related to the Classics (museums, Connecticut State Latin Day) Grant could be used to help cover the cost of admission, bus fare, etc.
Applications are open to instructors of Classical subjects in Connecticut, regardless of membership in ClassConn. Preference will be given for projects or events within the state of Connecticut and to those applicants who have not previously received a ClassConn discretionary grant. Please submit an application of no more than one page clearly stating amount requested (between $50.00 and $200.00) and purpose for which funds will be used by December 1, to

Applicants will be notified by a Committee of the ClassConn Board of Directors by February 1.
Recipients of ClassConn Discretionary Grants
Marlene Estabrooks of Lyme-Old Lyme High School received a grant of $63.00 for the purchase of Scrabble tiles and boards.
Amy Silver of Ellington High school received a grant of $225.00 to help purchase computer software for he classroom.
